ABOUT US

Communications & Emergency Products Inc. has been serving the needs of businesses, state and local government departments - both large and small, since 1981.  Ron Smith as the President and founder began designing integrated radio communications systems, closed circuit television systems, and electronic control systems in 1967; first as an industrial representative for Motorola C&E and then Motorola Systems Group.  After leaving Motorola, Ron spent several years as a systems contractor eventually moving into contracting for the installation and maintenance of the Datex computerized flight information systems, Raytheon reservations and ticketing systems for airlines at air terminals in major air terminals in the US.  Ron eventually moved from the computerized systems contracting activity to return to his first discipline of innovative utilization of radio communications and related systems to address businesses and governmental agencies needs for solutions to challenging operational applications.

Complex issues are usually best resolved when a simple solution is provided.  By drawing on years of experience and an uncanny ability to recognize electronic systems capability to combine and accomplish a successful application, Ron is able to bring a solution forward that is both operationally effective and affordable.

We enjoy providing an ordinary system to achieve straightforward purposes.  Job site communications don't always demand a cell phone - often a hand-held 2-way radio is a better solution - instant communications - no dialing - and with the newest generation of 2-way radios, small size and lots of features make this solution very appealing, and - no monthly fees!!!

Systems innovating eventually led to our developing a product to address the desire of industry for a "man down" system that offered a capability of a 24/7 off-premise and interactive monitoring service.  Responding to an inquiry from a corporate safety manager, we spent hours in meetings that were spread across almost two years where we listened to the various corporate department managers and plant managers to determine their operational requirements.  The resulting product is in its third generation of production and is currently operating successfully at plantsites in almost every state in the US including Hawaii and Alaska.  We recently received an inquiry for "man down" systems of a similar nature to address safety concerns for contractor personnel operating on foot in a war zone where they may not be missed until the end of a shift - our system would report the "man down" event via conventional 2-way radio with the signal and GPS location data up-linked via satellite to notify HQ of the man down event.  Another recent inquiry resulted in the development of a smaller unit with limited range (and linked to an on-board satellite managment system) to be worn by service orerators providing support services to remote (no cell coverage) drilling or production oil/gas wells.

The short version of the story says that we have the knowledge and determination to provide a real product/system to address your real issues.  Communications & Emergency Products is now your town's most trusted name in systems design/developmentr and application consulting, maintenance, and installation.
